The VRI Research Wing consists of five study centres, where research activities are carried out:
- Strategic Analysis Centre (VRI–SAC)
- Rohini Centre for Social Sciences (VRI–RC)
- Varuna Centre for Mekong Studies (VRI–VC)
- ACD Studies Centre (VRI–ACD)
- Ren Kaidou Centre for BL Studies (VRI–BL)
Besides the five centres, the Research Administration and Promotion Cell is also under the Research Wing.
